Matt Papa's Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery

VERSE 1
Come behold the wondrous mystery
In the dawning of the King
He the theme of heaven’s praises
Robed in frail humanity
In our longing, in our darkness
Now the light of life has come
Look to Christ, who condescended
Took on flesh to ransom us
VERSE 2
Come behold the wondrous mystery
He the perfect Son of Man
In His living, in His suffering
Never trace nor stain of sin
See the true and better Adam
Come to save the hell-bound man
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law; in Him we stand
VERSE 3
Come behold the wondrous mystery
Christ the Lord upon the tree
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory
See the price of our redemption
See the Father’s plan unfold
Bringing many sons to glory
Grace unmeasured, love untold
VERSE 4
Come behold the wondrous mystery
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e’er restrain Him
Praise the Lord; He is alive!
What a foretaste of deliverance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when he comes
What a foretaste of deliverance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when he comes

For the Joy (Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV)

12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

The Most Excellent Way

And yet I will show you the most excellent way.
13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part,10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhoodbehind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 12:31b-13:13 NIV)

Christ Is Enough - Hillsong Live from Kingsway on Vimeo.

CHRIST IS ENOUGH

Verse 1

Christ is my reward and all of my devotion
Now there's nothing in this world
That could ever satisfy
Through every trial my soul will sing
No turning back I've been set free

Chorus

Christ is enough for me
Christ is enough for me
Everything I need is in You
Everything I need

Verse 2

Christ my all in all the joy of my salvation
And this hope will never fail
Heaven is our home
Through every storm my soul will sing
Jesus is here to God be the glory

Bridge 1

I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back no turning back

Bridge 2

The cross before me the world behind me
No turning back no turning back

Lord, Show Us Your Glory

The Gospel reveals God's glory,
His glory leads to humility,
humility leads to repentance,
repentance leads to worship,
and worship leads to the glory of God.

New Song - It's Your Grace

"It's Your Grace" comes from the new Sovereign Grace Music project Grace Has Come (Songs from the Book of Romans). As the name suggests, each song is based on a portion of the book of Romans. We'll be learning several songs from the project this Fall. This particular song is based on chapters 9-11. Bob Kauflin writes, "How does one write a song based on Romans 9-11? This is our attempt. Doug Plank sent me the initial idea for the song, and I finished it while he was ministering over in Africa. I tried to communicate the thought that God’s sovereign grace is a cause not for theological disputes, but for humble rejoicing and grateful worship. After all, that’s where Paul ends up at the end of chapter 11." You can hear an audio clip of the song by going to the post that lists the Fall '13 songs and clicking on the album title.

VERSE 1
You will save whom You will save
We're the lost and helpless ones
The rebels and the renegades
Who spurned Your holy love
You will save whom You will save
Mercy will be magnified
Everyone has gone astray
And followed after lies
But You have loved us and opened our eyes

CHORUS   It's Your grace
From beginning to the end
It's Your grace
We will never comprehend
Why You drew the ones who ran from You
What can we do but offer You praise?

VERSE 2   You will save whom You will save
We were captive to our wills
And if our hearts had not been changed
We'd flee Your mercy still
You will save whom You will save
Who can question what You do?
You're the potter, we're the clay
You can make us as You choose
And there is no one who boasts before You

VERSE 3   You will save whom You will save
Yet the promised hope remains
You will rescue anyone
Who calls upon Your name
You will save whom You will save
Faithful love won't be denied
Christ has overcome the grave
And for our sins He died
And when He comes back His glory will shine
